THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Maison Delano
Delano brought their Miami aesthetic to an 18th-century hôtel particulier just off Faubourg Saint-Honoré, and the combination is more successful than it sounds on paper. The building has serious bones: original herringbone parquet, soaring ceilings, the kind of architectural detailing that survived because someone actually cared. They've layered in their signature white-on-white minimalism without erasing what makes the space special, and with only fifty-six rooms, the lobby never feels like a thoroughfare you're trying to escape. Rooms are genuinely spacious, which matters in Paris where most luxury hotels still think 25 square meters counts as comfortable. Courtyard views are quieter if you're a light sleeper, street-facing rooms get better natural light. The bathroom marble is substantial, the real thing rather than trying too hard to impress. Breakfast in the courtyard is where the hotel shows best: proper coffee, someone making omelettes to order, the kind of morning setup that makes you want to linger over a second cappuccino. Dinner at the restaurant is less impressive, so save your evening for somewhere that's earned the effort. The location puts you on the quiet side of the 8th arrondissement's luxury corridor. Hermès' original boutique is around the corner, Tuileries is a five-minute walk, and you're close enough to the major museums without being in the middle of the tourist crush. The bar actually draws neighborhood regulars in the evening, which tells you the locals have figured out it's worth their time. Service is polished but not stiff, and the concierge will send you to the right places without the usual luxury hotel superiority complex. This works if you want to be in the heart of Paris luxury shopping and museum access but aren't interested in palace hotel formality or their typically cramped quarters. It's for someone who appreciates good design and a well-run hotel without needing every surface to announce how expensive it was
