The village of Torroja del Priorat has around a hundred inhabitants, a Romanesque church, and views over terraced vineyards to the Montsant cliffs that have been more or less unchanged for centuries. The restaurant operates under two names depending on the hour: Tarraco at lunch, serving Roman-inspired Catalan cuisine on the terrace, and Vinum at dinner, an elaborate gastronomic tasting menu built around local produce and paired with Priorat wines from the cellar. The cellar is well worth the visit independently of dinner.
