THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Casa Cipriani New York
Casa Cipriani opened in 2021 inside the 1909 Beaux-Arts Battery Maritime Building at the very tip of Manhattan, a ferry terminal that Thierry Despont—the architect who restored the Statue of Liberty—spent years bringing back from near-collapse. The 47 rooms sit on the third and fourth floors designed like 1930s ocean liners, all lacquered mahogany by Italian craftsman Tedeschi, brass fixtures, and walls lined with Loro Piana cashmere in the Presidential Suites. The Roebling and Bartholdi Suites come with wraparound terraces where you watch the Statue of Liberty across the harbor and ferries shuttling to Governors Island directly below. Hotel guests get access to the fifth-floor members club, where the Cipriani restaurant opens onto the East River, a jazz café plays most nights, and the Promenade lounge serves the real Bellini invented by Giuseppe Cipriani himself. The atmosphere is intimate, polished, and quietly indulgent, appealing to travelers who seek both style and calm in the heart of Manhattan.
